National Field Sales Manager

Role Overview

National territory | Full UK driving licence required

Robinson Young is looking for an experienced Field Sales Manager to lead our national field sales team and own our relationships with the brands we represent.

The National Field Sales Manager leads and develops the national field sales team, driving profitable sales growth across all channels for our principal brands. The role owns delivery of the field sales plan, but turns on three things above all: developing our current staff into a stronger, more capable team; owning and strengthening relationships with our principals; and driving effective co-ordination across departments so that Robinson Young delivers seamlessly for principals and customers alike.

You’ll manage and develop a team of six — a Senior Key Account Manager, four Key Account Managers and a Business Development Manager — coaching them to raise their performance and grow their capability. You’ll be the senior, trusted point of contact for our principals, ensuring their objectives are delivered in the field, and you’ll act as the vital link between field sales and the wider business, keeping plans and activity joined up across marketing, category, supply chain and operations.

This is a hands-on leadership role: translating commercial strategy into a clear national sales plan, supporting your team on key wholesale, convenience and foodservice accounts, and reporting directly to our Head of Sales on performance and market opportunities.

What you’ll bring:

Essential :

Proven field sales management experience in FMCG (non-food ideally), a genuine track record of coaching and developing account managers, experience owning senior client or principal relationships, strong commercial acumen, and CRM implementation experience. You’ll know the UK convenience and wholesale landscape well, be a confident communicator and influencer, and be happy working autonomously across a national patch — including occasional overnight stays.

Desirable :

Experience across household, healthcare, catering or stationery categories; private label exposure; experience onboarding new principals or brand mandates; category management knowledge; and familiarity with PHOCAS or similar reporting systems.

Benefit Package :

Salary £50,000-£55,000 per annum

Annual performance bonus up to 25%

Car Allowance

Salary Sacrifice Pension Scheme

EAP

Annual Volunteering Day

Employee Referral Scheme
